The operation goal in this case is to end each flood event with a full pool for water supply, without causing damage at the dam site or downstream. This requires the operator to make release decisions that anticipate future inflow.</FONT></div> </tD> </tR> <tR> <tD VALIGN=TOP COLSPAN=3 BGCOLOR=#339933 HEIGHT= 16 WIDTH="537"><div> <B>Action</B></div> </tD> </tR> <tR> <tD VALIGN=TOP COLSPAN=3 HEIGHT= 139 WIDTH="537"><div> We configured, calibrated, and implemented <A HREF="aviso_fs.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Aviso FSour site specific forecasting sy"><U>Aviso FS--our site specific forecasting system</U></A> thus enabling LNRA to forecast reservoir inflow, given reports from their surface observation system.</div> <div> T<FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#111111" FACE="Verdana" >o help the operator make decisions about releases, we developed a model of Lake Texana. This model has a custom interface, as shown below, that was designed with cooperation of the LNRA operators. The forecast is fed to the lake model in real time.
