Our technical staff includes professional engineers, hydrologists, geographers, and computer systems analysts. Their specialties include rainfall-runoff analysis, stream hydraulics, water resource systems analysis and operations research, flood damage analysis, risk analysis, geographic information systems, database management systems, flood warning and emergency planning, real-time data collection and transmission, and Web technologies.
All professional staff members have advanced degrees in engineering, hydrology, computer science, geography, or related fields. Engineers on our staff currently are registered in California, Texas, Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, North Carolina, Nevada, and Oklahoma. Staff engineers also are certified by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, so they qualify for registration throughout the US. Our technical staff is supported by a professional administrative staff.

In addition to our consulting activities, our staff is involved in voluntary technical activities. These include:
 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) . We are active in ASCE. Dr. David Ford, president of the firm, is a member and past chair of the Water Resources Systems Committee. Ford served as Associate Editor of the ASCE Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management. Other staff members have reviewed manuscripts submitted for possible publication in that journal and have authored papers published there.
 National Research Council (NRC) . Dr. Ford served on the NRC's committee on Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research in 1998. In 1999-2002, he served on the NRC's committee on ecosystem science in the Missouri River basin.
 ALERT Users Group (AUG) . We are AUG members and support AUG's activities by contributing time and financial resources. In 2004, David Ford was presented with an award from AUG for Outstanding Service to the ALERT community.
 National Hydrologic Warning Council (NHWC) . We are NHWC members and support NHWC activities by contributing time and financial resources. We were selected by NHWC to complete a two phase study on the benefits of the USGS Streamgaging program. The phase I report will be available from USGS Internet site soon.
 Southwest Association of ALERT Users (SAAS) . We are SAAS members and support SAAS activities by contributing time and financial resources.
 Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) . We are Corporate Partners with ASFPM. We support ASFPM's efforts to reduce flood losses by contributing time and financial resources.

We have provided consulting services for clients throughout the US and abroad. Principle clients in the US include the Corps of Engineers and other federal government agencies, and state and local floodplain and stormwater management agencies. Our clients overseas include governments of India, Portugal, and international agencies.
